PBC Season 1 Summary:
After moving from her public accounting firm audit role into a senior accountant position at a fast growth tech start-up, Sarah finds herself trying to adapt to life in private accounting. Shortly after getting started, the audit team arrives to begin their annual year-end engagement, and stress is at an all-time high. While she tries to be “cool” with her new accounting team, her co-workers Hunter and Makayla have other plans… mess with the auditors. When the prank war goes to far, Sarah is forced to squash her own personal drama, while teaming up with superstar auditor Lindsey to finish the engagement. Unfortunately, her new co-worker crush, Hunter, has gone missing with all the files and workpapers, so the two embark on an endeavor to track him down and finish the audit. Meanwhile the accounting manager Tracy is rushing to lure audit associate Shack into ghost-ticking the files as to not raise any red-flags to Jamie, the audit manager, who’s unlucky streak has him ready to do whatever it takes to get out of this client. When Sarah and Lindsey discover Tracy has been committing fake vendor fraud, she’s forced to be a whistleblower at the risk of losing her job. Fortunately, with the support of her team, Sarah is able to show Dave the Controller, and Jessica the CFO, that her claims are valid, and proves herself to be an invaluable asset to the Sunryzer accounting team, and company as a whole.
