JANUARY 23, 2022: The Government has sought assistance from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and forensic auditors to probe the alleged multimillion-dollar fraud at investment firm Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL)… The Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke, who updated the country on Monday, said several public bodies have investments in SSL… Dr Clarke has named Bank of Jamaica Governor Richard Byles as the new chairman of Financial Services Commission, the entity that regulates dealers in securities such as SSL… The police are probing the death of 25-year-old Sony Hewitt who fell from a balcony at a hotel in Montego Bay, St James on Sunday, a day after her birthday… Dairy facilities manager at food company, Seprod Group, Dean Griffiths who was shot on January 17, died on Sunday.
