Karnataka Police Recruitment Scam: The arrests of two top bureaucrats in Bengaluru on July 4one a senior ranking IPS officer and the other an IAS officerin separate cases have brought the focus sharply back on corruption allegations in Karnataka. While Additional Director General of Police Amrit Paul was arrested in connection with the ongoing probe into a police sub-inspector recruitment scam, former Bengaluru Urban deputy commissioner J. Manjunath was taken into police custody in an allegation of bribery. The government has placed both officers under suspension.
